I don't think that form factor will take off. If we ever stray away from ATX, it'd probably be for file servers. If I ever bought one of those, it would either be a music box, or my mini-network server. Or heck, for people with good broadband connections, run your mini Counter-Strike server!

Why not just use it as a gaming rig? It has the power and it looks cool. It has potential to be way better than the system I'm on right now. If I had the cash I'd buy it and put a 2.53 ghz in there with a radeon 9700.

Well I mean come on my current rig is just over a year old. I wouldn't mind getting a new computer, not because the current one is not fast enough but mostly because I want a second computer. I don't know why most people would want any thing bigger. I mean what do you need 5 PCI slots? This mother board has nearly every thing built in any way. Mind you the on board graphics would need to be the first thing to go, but still. Its on par with all the other full size systems of its class, and that class happens to be top of the line. I have no need for 5 pci slots and the massive wirly of all my fans. I want a small quiet system that looks nice enough to sit on my desk and not need to cover it with a bow paper bag. Also its something you could throw under your arm and take some where easily.

I couldn't agree with you more. I too have a computer that I built just about a year ago and I wouldn't mind having a newer computer, much less one that I could take back and forth to college or to a friend's house.

I debating whether or not to just put a 2.2 ghz P4 with my current GF4 Ti4600 in the mini system or if I should wait a month or two and then put in a 2.53 ghz P4 and buy a Radeon 9700. My GF4 is awsome as it is, but after seeing the new Radeon videos.... damn. Plus, I do get a free upgrade on my current GF4, with eVGA. I pre-ordered it and I can upgrade it with in 2 years to any new nVidia card. All I have to do is pay the difference (if any) and shipping.

Ok.... I pre-ordered the card back in May. With the pre-order came a "Step-Up Plan" where I can upgrade to the lastest gratest nVidia card within two years of my pre-order purchase. All I do is pay the difference of what I originally paid (if any) and pay for shipping and handling and send my old GF4 Ti4600 back to eVGA. You could only get this deal with eVGA.com by pre-ordering the eVGA GeForce Ti4600.

Sounds like a great plan to me.
