Well it's official my brother is going to Iraq. It is now personal. I never liked this war idea from the start, and now that my brother may be involved I like it even less. He's been to Bosnia on a peace keeping mission and was stationed in Germany for 3 years, but I don't think any of that can really prepare him for what might lay ahead. Too bad we don't live in Canada, they're pretty damn smart when it comes to not going to war. I know he's in the Army and it's expected that if you're in the Army you're going to war, but why fight Iraq. Even if we kick their ass we still don't win much. My brother has a wife and 3 kids and if Bush gets him hurt or worse there will be hell to pay. Well Bush, when most of the country doesn't want war doesn't that say something to you? If you REALLY do know something we don't know, I'd really like to know, but I really doubt it.

I'm sorry to hear it man. I can only try to sympathize... My dad is looking at almost definitely being shipped off, and my cousin is in the air force, but i havent heard what going on with him. All my friends in the Army and Marines are probably there, havent seen them around, so i can only assume. Just hope that he gets stuck at some worthless outpost that doesnt get any action. I know thats how i feel about my dad when i think of him getting shipped off. Again, im sorry to hear it, my heart goes out to ya man...

thats too bad I mean the war can be considered in vain. I bet Bush doesn't even have anybody in his family that is in the army.

Remember, maniacs don't start wars, draft dodging maniacs start wars. My prayers go out to everybody being sent over to do an idiot's lacky work. Bad things happen, and this is one of them. As far as the Canucks go, it was one of THEIR piolets that shot down the "Red Barron" in WW2. As an American, I'll admit our history books put us at the center of everything (stikk true huh?) and we pretty much refuse to give credit to everybody else if it takes away from our "Glory". Still being a young nation, we all to often puff our chests in pride and do things just because we can (which is bad policy and pretty stupid if you ask me).
But as far as the topic goes, yes, I agree, Bush is a jackass.

agreed Bush is a jackass
well Canada and many other countries are just waiting for UN sanction, but apprently the USA is going to go in anyways. If the USA does go, the UN will just be like the "League of Nations" and will just prove that the America is the boss.
i heard this comment, goes something like this:
"Bush is being considered as one of the world's best world tacticians such as [insert names], he first makes this enemy destroy all of his weapons and then bomb the hell out of it"
like really, he doesn't give a rat's ass if Iraq has weapons or not, he just wants to get rid of Huissen(sp)
jackass

@eyepoker, our regards, hope for the best and that the war will be short and swift and no one dies or gets hurt

No one likes war, but sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do. Iraq is a threat. If we don't face it now, then the consequences of not taking action will be a lot worse later. Saddam was supposed to get rid of his weapons 12 years ago, and he still hasn't. This morning Iraq fired Scuds that they declared they never had. The game with Saddam needs to end.

I sympathize for those of you who have loved ones involved in the military and I pray that they return safely.

I think Bush is right about Iraq though. We need to face Saddam now and face him with marines, infantry, navy, etc. instead of police, firefighters, and doctors in our cities.

The debate on whether or not war should happen is over; it has happened. So the way I see it, we need to support our troops.

i agree with crazy horse. Whether you support the war or not, support the troops over there with their lives on the line.

Also, crazy is right about Saddam. He was supposed to disarm, or else. Well, he didnt disarm, so there has to be an else. I hate war, but the fact remains that there has to be consequences to saddams actions, without consequences, UN resolutions and UN policies would be worthless. Diplomacy does not always work, sometimes its gotta get dirty. Its a sad truth.

Has everyone in America forgotten that there is absolutley no evidence that link Iraq to the terrorist attacks???

Bush might as well have said, "Damn those terrorists...we're taking Poland!!!"

I need to do some research on the subject. What was the original UN resolution? didnt saddam have to disarm 12 years ago? i mean, saddam hasnt done a thing he agreed to do, has he? If he hasnt, then there has to be consequences, otherwise the UN has no power. Feel free to prove me wrong, like i said, i need to do some research on this...

I will support our troops 100%, I just don't like the fact that the're there.
The reason we're at war is because Iraq didn't keep the UN resolutions for disarmerment. So to uphold the power of the UN, we're going againgt it (stupidity, really). We ARE the oxymoron.

Saddam has had ties to terrorists, but not strong ones i believe. But we do know he has weapons of mass destruction... and if he had enough of those i'm sure his ties with terrorists would become stronger.

I think the UN is a great organization, but it had a lot of trouble actually getting things to happen. Anything the U.S. wants, Russia and China reject, and anything they want, the U.S. and Great Britain reject. That's pretty much how it's been with the war with Iraq in the UN.

In my opinion, this is just the first step to fight the BIG problem of terrorism. Saddam promised to disarm and turn his country peaceful 12 years ago, and he didn't. We were about to jump on his throat in Baghdad 12 years ago when he promised to change. Well he DIDN'T. And that is why this is the first step of action we are taking. Dont get me wrong, I am not a violence loving person, but sometimes things need to be done to stop opression and terrorism.

Except there is no link between Saddam and Bin Laden.

Nor are they fighting because of it.
