Is there a difference between the 4800 and 4600? How does it compare to the ATI Radeon 9700 and the 9500 pro? Thanks, might be upgrading one of my computers soon.

I think it's the one MSI has been pimping. It's just a 4600 core with boosted clocks, big whoopie.

I think that Ti 4800 was the earlier designation for the 8x version of the 4600, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Ehh, its not like you're going to get a performance boost anyway, not with an MX.

yeah i know... i just thought it was weird. It was kinda sad because they guy goes. "yeah, the guy at the store said this was the best card i could get for the money, it's great" But then again this guy thinks that the XBOX and Halo are the best things ever.

its just a picture of it. Kinda a spiffy way to show off a thing... and a decent way to mask flaws.

I'd really like to see some benchmarks on it. I bet it's NVIDIA's solution to the 9500/9700 series of cards that are kicking the shit out of the Ti4600.

Nahh from the rumor mills its only posting to be about 10% faster than a 4600. They say it's just a 4600 card made from a refined batch and is shiped overclocked from 4600 speeds.

NVIDIA's marketing had a meeting to discuss the future of the GeForce Ti 4800 and Ti 4800-SE; it turns out that NVIDIA has reversed their decision and will sell the Ti 4800 as a GeForce4 Ti 4600-8X in North America. For the rest of the world, the Ti 4800 and Ti 4800-SE will continue to be manufactured under the new name.
