I just tried to install my new processor and new fan they sent me with it, and when i started the pc the fan spun about 5 times and then shut off, any ideas why?

I have a 300 w power suppy a brand new epox motherboard, i have been using my old processor from my last comp and it's been working fine, but when i stuck in this proc it shuts comp down right when i start so i had to stick this processor back in, i'm trying to install a Xp 1800 processor, any ideas would be great, thnx.

Make sure the little switvh on the power supply is set at 115, and then if you have more than one HD, just use the one you need to boot, and one CD drive. Also, make sure the PS connector to your motherboard is in nice and snug.

This is only motherboard i have that'll accept the XP 1800 chip, i stuck in again yesterday friend has exact same motherboard, Epok KMM+, very nice board by the way, and he said to chnage bus settings to default again back to 100mhz, it worked fine for him and it runs at the right speed, but i tried that again and when i hit power fan didn't even turn around i just hurd the power start to come on and that was it, fan didn't go and comp. just shut off immediatly after i hit power.
