Alright, my new pc is running at about 34c so I though I could push it until it hits about 45c-47c. But when I change the FSB or multiplier, my temps don't change at all. Do I have to reboot to see the change or is it that once I set the FSB I can go to the Hardware Monitor and see the difference? I just wanted to know because it seems odd that at 166mhz bus, by temps haven't budged.

PS: Asus A7V333 - Athlon 1700+ Rev b (I think) - Thermaltake volcano 6cu

Have you unlocked (http://www.vr-zone.com/guides/AMD/AthlonXPUnlock/) your processor? Changing the multiplier wont affect anything really unless you unlock your processor.

Are you noticing better performance with the higher FSB settings? If you are and the temps dont go up, thats weird. But kinda good because that means you can probably push it further :D

Yeah its unlocked. If I change the fsb should the temps immediately change (as in I could go right to the hardware monitor and see hte difference) or do have to reboot for the chaneg to be in effect?

Well, if you raise the FSB, and then lower the multiplier so that the actual clock speed is around the same as it was before you changed the FSB, then, in theory, your tems should be about the same, although you'll have better memory performance. Is that what you're doing?

Nope, I actually raised both the FSB and the multiplier :D

You usually dont see instant changes in temperature.
