I really need some linkage here, guys. One of my closest friends is in trouble with his business because he was told that audio drivers have been written by intel on the 945 chipset for linux. Apparently, there are none. Can any of you do me a huge favor and dig up some dirt on this? Any drivers that work even half way would be a life saver.

I'll be looking around too, but honestly, I haven't messed around with linux, and I don't even know where to start.

He's running the latest Redhat core, whichever version number that is.

Sorry.. false alarm I guess. Things are under control.

So it's using onboard sound.
What is the audio chip itself? It's most likely a Realtek ACL 88X (Realtek sucks ass).
Hope it's a C-Media CMI8770 or CM8760. You'll find them only on Intel boards and are Intel's equivalant of Nvidia's Soundstorm.
If you don't know the audio chipset then just give up the motherboard type/ manufacturer and I'll dig.
