Well, someone has to have the first application to join [THE] on bf2, so here it is. Upon the suggestion of Rammer, I am hereby applying to join.

As I've said, I have decided to start playing Battlefield 2 (possibly tonight if all goes well). Naturally the first server I want to go to is THE. I have always been impressed with the setup of the server, and the friendly atmosphere with it's members and regs. I've been playing with you guys for over a year, and I've enjoyed hearing some very...interesting and hilarious things from you guys. THE was the first cs server I played on (thanks to Supermanjnk's suggestion), and ever since that first time I hoped that one day I could join. I respect your members, and enjoy talking to them when on cs or here on the forums.

I'm not really sure what else I should say here. If you guys are looking for CS/BF2 server donations, I would of course be willing to donate to continue the server. If there were leagues set up for BF2 (which sounds like a fun idea), I would be interested in playing (not sure if you guys are planning on doing that kind of thing, but I figured I'd say it anyway).

If it is decided that I am permitted to join before I start playing, I might put [THE] in front of my name. If not, I'll come up with something and let you guys know in some form or another.

So I think that's it. If you guys have any questions, I would be more than willing to answer. :)

Thanks for your time,
Veritas

I don't play that pos game, however my 2 cents worth...Veritas is a class guy and would welcome him the clan anytime. At least he wouldn't insult other clan members behind their back and is probably more mature than most of us.

Voo, that means a lot to me. I'm greatful.

As for BF2...
it gets to be really addicting. If you really want to know what it's like, try it. Or try the demo. Sure, it may be more complex and at times seemingly overwhelming, but it is fun, and more realistic than CS.

I would have to vote YES for him to be in our clan.

I have made the rule on the age limit a minimum of 18, so I think he's right in there.

Welcome aboard soldier!

First of all, thanks for the support and for allowing me to join.

Second, out of pure curiousity, a question. Are members in THE universal, as in, do people who join on BF2 count on CS, or are they separate?

Third, if applicable, I guess if someone could pm me the details of admin on BF2/CS (I saw in BF2 that they have the ` setup going - I pressed the button this morning to see what would happen, so I guess any commands go through there), and what kind of things would warrant using it, that would be great. The last thing I would want to do is misuse something that was given off of a basis of trust.

Rammer, I guess this means I allow myself to be "initiated" (in whatever sense you apply that word). Have fun, I know it's all for fun.

I'm probably forgetting something, and if I am, I'll just ask someone at some point.

Hey Veritas,

A warm WELCOME!!!

Now that you have joined our little "family" I just want to answer some of your questions.

Alright - the first thing on BF2 admin. Admin works a little differently in BF2 than in CS. Where in CS we can use our AMX mod to grant and use admin, and it's very easy to change settings on ourserver and grant / use admin. This is something that we will give you in a couple of weeks.

Now BF2 is a little different, we use an external third party mod called BF2CC to admin the BF2 server. Normally it's me using my laptop while playing as well to kick / ban / etc. abusive players. BF2 admin iis limited to only 3 of us at the moment, and I think BF2 admin will stay limited for the time being. Our server is getting to be very popular, and this might change in the near future, but for now status quo.

-BUT- that being said - we are on there usually at night, after 5 PM, when most of us that work get home. I know I was there last night until at least 10 PM, which is a god 4-5 hours of BF'in.

Now on donations, both Fred and myself are the primary contributors to both the cs and bf2 servers, however, we will always take donations from members should they wish to contribute to the cause. Many in the clan give when they can and that's great. There are no formal "dues" in our family. So the bottom line is if you want to donate - send via paypal to my address rogwilli@cox.net and you will get the credit you deserve, and our thanks, but you dont HAVE to.

Again, welcome aboard, glad to have you with us, and I hope to frag you later on!

Whew! my fingers are tired now! :D

Alright. The whole Admin BF2 thing makes sense now. I usually get out of classes at about 5 or 6, so I'll have time to join you guys on there (plus whenever else I get on). After all, there is a significant amount of catching up to do...

Thanks Jason. :D

Yeah, I'm not great at it yet, but I'm working on it. And I'm having fun trying, so that's the point of it. For whatever reason the game doesn't want me to kill things...

I can now fly airplanes and helicopters, but I can't kill things while doing it...little steps :P

Congrats Veritas!!!! WOOO another person to pummel in BF2!!!! MUHAHAHA!!!!
