I D/L them, and my fps in Q3 goes from 300-350 to 100- 150! Ok this has been over time, at first when I got the 2.2s and started using Rage3ds Tweak thing it was that high. Bet every time I updated or tweaked something my fps would go down a bit, until my old computer with a TB750 and a Kyro II is beating it! Does anyone know what the problem could be? Maybe I just need to reformat... It's such a pain tho with XP! Oh well...

I donno I had some major problems with the new drivers... Like completely crashing the system  But I uninstalled them and went back to the previous version so *shrug* I am back in to playing games. But I left Direct X 9 on and it actually seemed to help somegames like Need for speed HP2. Donno why, but it did. Probably some little compatability issue.

I installed the drivers and my 3dmark went up by about 100pts from the previous release where they dipped by about 200pts. I guess you are prolly having some nasty driver conflict somewhere as with my old Gigabyte mobo, those drivers caused all sorts of problems with all Direct3D games... a new MSI mobo with up to date VIA and BIOS drivers solved all my problems. I guess you'd probably find some ideas over at Rage3D (http://www.rage3d.com) .

Mmmm... that's the thing. I was very cautious about the new drivers becasue I heard bad things about them so I read that entire topic on the new drivers, 16 pages, I think, and did everything they said. I recently removed all registry keys and stuff for ATI and did a clean install by using Device manager and pointing it to the right directory, that put me upo to 230-280 fps. Better, but not quite what I had before. On this computer I am using a Gigabyte motherboard, coincidentally. I'll go d/l some 4in1s then.

Hmm... well i got them with DX9... and i havnt had any problems, or noticed a drop in frames. Probably because i havnt been playing any games :P I'll run 3dmark when i get home.

I think that with most drivers, sometimes a sacrafice for balls-out performance is sometimes made for better stability. With the 6193 Catalysts I lost about 500pts in 3dMark but it let me run Mafia and the Thing without crashes and the whole card (from those drivers onwards) has been rock solid. So to be honest I would rather get that than some extra fps... :P
