Yea some of the seniors at our school are shitting bricks that they might have to be drafted. I guess im pretty lucky not being a senior this year. But really how many will they need to draft to have a 2 day ground war to round up the bombed to shit troops.

I hope there is not going to be a draft. But if I had too I would probably be in a jet with bombs. Anything for an adrenaline rush :D.

yah, this shit is all hype...there would be no way for there to be another Vietnam style draft. It'd be political suicide and since that is the point of this "war" I don't think Bush is ready to do it.

Some American analyst could barely conceal his laughter when he was asked on BBC news about the chances of Bush invading North Korea. He basically said it was impossible for any Western country to even contemplate it as (unbelievabley but true) the North Koreans have a standing army, ie full time soldiers numbering somewhere near 1million... plus the support staff etc. They apparently have one of the largest tank armies in the world too. Oh and China would just nuke the fuck out of us all anyway.

China only has three ICBMs whereas the US/UK/Russia have (together) millons of them. However they do have the advantage in manpower versus our technology.

Yep, we irradiate our lands and poison our water/food supplies. That's why we've got the Mutual Destruction Pact with Russia, but the problem is countries like Iraq and terrorists like Osama don't exactly buy in to that philosophy.

... well actually... a draft would be more democratice than republican... republicans buy the toys (missiles) and shoot them, while democrates want to give jobs to the millions...
I know what your saying Lag... but hehe its kinda odd sometimes

well just cause something is democratic doesn't mean it's has something to do with the Democrat party...all these words share the same root...like we have democratic elections and live in a democracy, but it's not all to do with the Democratic party.

not what I ment. All I was saying is that the democratic party usually stands for suporting the people through programs and what not. The military can be looked at as a program that gives people a career and an income.

No we don’t... a republic is where every single person (which use to be males owning land in Greece where the republic was first noted) has a direct vote not through democratic representatives

Hmm, I'll be happy cowering away here in WA.
Not that I can get drafted into Australia's armed forces (which its unlikely will happen (a draft that is)) due to certain issues I have.
