What, to you, is the ultimate system case for your main rig? If you could have any case, which one would it be?

Dammit, I had that idea a long time ago, long a year and a half. Thief. It was so original too! :P

*wipes sarcasm off*
Mine? Something functional. I have yet to find that "perfect case", but it would involve 120mm fan spots for low noise fans, aluminum, and drive rails. I'll add if I think of anything else...

I want to do an acrylic (black smoke, semi transparent) desktop case (sideways, not up and down) with 120mm fans for air, and so I can do a 120mm fan over the cpu getting air in straigtgh from the outsided of the case. A few lights and a dedcent psu will be all it'll take.

I'm not quite sure what the ultimate case would be, but i know what setup would be awesome.

Get a digital projector. Get rid of your desk and clear the entire wall behind where it used to be. Project the image as large as the wall is. Add wireless mouse + keyboard.

That was one of the first computers, and beleive it or not, it was called a "Wang."
But I thought it would be cool as part of a desk with a glass top so you could see everything working while you typed. It would also be a great way to keep tabs on how dusty it was.

My ultimate case, at this point, for my main rig, the one I use most of the time and haul to LANparties, would definately be a full tower of impeccable quality. That's about as far as I can specify at this point. Yes, I like lugging big computer equipment to LANs. :P

Jesus, speaking of aluminum, low noise 120 mm fans, and drive rails, meet Super LANboy, by Antec. Though in my opinion far from a dream case, it features all three of these things I think.. not sure about the drive rails. For 3.5 inch internal drives it has removable trays which are quite convenient. It has two low RPM (thus low noise) 120 mm fans. One intake in front of the HDDs (works great for HDD cooling, I have this case), and one rear blowing out. The case is made of aluminum, and is very light. One may say that it is flimsy, and it does in some ways feel flimsy, but for its weight it is pretty strong, and is definately a solid case. It costs about $75 on newegg with $15 shipping. Midtower.

Biokraken, pics please :) So I take it you're not planning to go mobile with this computer? No LAN parties? Wahhh

Tobalaz, just how transperant would you like it? Would somebody be able to easily see what's inside the case? Would it be somewhat visible, i.e. detectable with obscured details? Or, would it be for the most part invisible, but still have a sort of "see thru" ghostly look?

ILikeBeans, not bad for movie watching, eh? And how about games? ^_^ Would you be interested in taking advantage of the huge display size by using ultra-high resolution to give more workspace, or would you be more interested in everything being superhugeified?

Dream case: One of those super-huge pedestal server cases with room for 16 HDDs and more fans than most computer shops keep in stock at any one time.

I'd probably want one of those as my home storage server... with gigabit or faster glass to the net or maybe six of em, for a "storage area network" or SAN.

Not sure about LAN parties, but if you wanna bring your mega pedestal server monster, I'm fine with it.

id like to make a rackmount sort of case in a slide out fasion built into my wall. Possibly in an a vent so that my central air fan will blow through the case cooling it. Might not work but atleast an idea.

Seven hundred watts of redundant power. Four 90mm fans. Dual 120mm fans. Ninety-five pounds. Support for anything from mini-ITX to Quad Xeon MP/Opteron 8xx boards more than a foot and a half on a side. Ten hot-swap hard drive bays. Yeah, BABY!
