I'm looking for any info from other Kyro II owners in regards problems with their card stability/compatibility wise.

Recently I have noticed an increased number of problems with games and my Hercules 4500 card. Morrowind generated problems with graphical anomalies. Americas Army apparently won't even run with the card due to T&L HW problems. Same for Spiderman: The Movie. And most recently, GTA3 has been acting oddly with lock ups and crashes directly resulting from instability with the hardware drivers. All of these games mention the Kyro II in Readme files and promotional information as being incompatible and unsupported by the software. There are work rounds but these are often pretty limited.

Basically, does anyone have any tips or driver information to sort out any of these problems? I guess the clock is ticking down even quicker towards the purchase of a nice Ge4 4600....

I don't have a link, but get a proggie called 3DAnalyze and you can play all of those without a hitch if you have a strong proc. As for the stability, the only issue I've hit a wall with is Deus Ex crashing every five to ten minutes. All my other games work fine.

Would you class a 1.4 Athlon a strong processor? 8months ago maybe...

Have you played AA yet? Did you work round the T&L thing?

I haven't bothered, I'm still waiting for my free CD :P. My XP 2100+ handles it great, my old P3 866, suffers a bit but can still manage. So I figure you can make it.

You have any problems with Deus Ex? This problem is really pissing me off. I start playing then randomly it freezes completely. Bam. Everyone says it's my SBLive though, so I dunno...

Ive got the same card as mOOk and im playing Deus Ex with no problems at all, except the sound sometimes becomes very crackly on the radio messages and you cant make out what they have said. Ive got a Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 card in have you ever experienced any problems with the sound like that.

Nah. Deus Ex ran like a dream on my computer. The Grand Theft Auto 3 thing is persisting tho'. I'm totally enjoying playing it but very occasionally I get all graphics freezing up and it is only sorted through a reset. When XP boots back up the send error dialogue complains of unstable graphics drivers. I've seen that before on other stuff although not more than once on the same game.

It definitly sounds like its time for a new graphics card, go on you know you want to then it will give me an excuse to get one.

Yah. Although I did find a performance change in regards Morrowind with those drivers. I ended up reinstalling an older driver to eliminates some tearing in the game.

I have the same card the Herules 4500 w/ TV out. Never had any problems. Every game I own runs great except for Rainbow Six, (No support last time I tried), Max Payne (cant run with anti aliasing otherwise I can run at max detail at max res. 1600*1200), Unreal Tournment 2003 runs slow. Other than those games it has ben a great value for under $100.

1 word... nv30 :D

I have a 3d Prophet 4500 right now, no problems with it yet except for RvS... it cant run the damn game.

Kyro II is in the list of "tested but unsupported" cards so I didn't really expect anything else

I also have a fairly low fps on UT2k3 but it's easily playable of decent settings
