I want to put linux on my laptop, but its only got a 1.2 gb hard drive... i want to leave 1 gig to windows 95, and use the rest for linux...

i have a 8 mb "diagnastics" partition (sp?)
a 50mb thinkpad migration partition (gonna scrap for space)
and a 1.1 gig (estamated) win95 partition.

so, any small distros that you know of, that would help lots, thanks.

ps. i dont need a gui... twm/fwm95 may be used, but probably not, i just want it for the "console" aspect.

thanks.

Linux From Scratch (LFS) (http://www.linuxfromscratch.org) only for the brave of heart. Or just do a Debian scratch install. LFS is fun though, good learning experience.

EDIT- The URL is .org, not .com if you've already clicked it.

Debian! Debian! Debian!
Alot of the schools in my area are going to Debian based networks because of its stability. I'm going to force myself to it on my next spare comp as the next step from Redhat. And besides, its got that PERTY red swirly thing going on for it.;)
