I have been trying to play Counter Strike for the past half hour and it keeps telling me that it cant read my WON ID, it worked fine yesterday and now it doesnt. I tried with my firewall disabled and everthing and it still wont work. Has this happened to anyone else before? Anyone got any ideas what I can do to get it working? Any help would be appreciated. :)

Yah, WON.net is down. No one can play unless they were on when it happened...sucks doesn't it.

Haven't played CS in awhile, but ja need the WON servers to authenticate your ID. HL/CS's shitty warez/pirate protection. An interesting thought comes to mind. Say in a couple years, the companies shut down the authentication servers for games like Q3/HL/CS/EF/RTCW. How will the ever-looming mass of the "old-school gamer" be able to play?!

Thanks Lag I thought it was just me because I saw other people playing and I tried the Half Life updater and it said that you wouldnt be able to play their multiplayer games today except Half Life/Counter Strike. I got a bit scared incase I broke mine or something, lol.
